On-demand Entanglement Distribution Network

We discuss our perspective on QKD, especially the typical paradigm to connect two devices Alice and Bob. The limitations found there motivated us to invest on a typical star-shaped network topology. We present a compact optical system to share entanglement between different users on demand. It is based on a polarization entangled photon pair source at 1550nm. The broadband emission is used to distribute entanglement over a simple, but scalable switching network to 2 pairs of users on request simultaneously with fidelities of 98%.
