Quantum cryptography aims to achieve security from fundamental physical principles, such as the quantum mechanical phenomena of entanglement and Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle. QCrypt 2015 (5th International Conference on Quantum Cryptography) is a conference for students and researchers working on quantum cryptography and related quantum information science and technology.

In QCrypt, it is a tradition to have a public lecture in which the world leading scientists in this research field provide an introductory lecture of quantum information for non-specialists. This year, we have two distinguished lecturers, Prof. Kae Nemoto from NII and Prof. Artur Ekert from University of Oxford, who will talk on the introduction of quantum information science as well as the cutting-edge of its technological developments and the impact on our future society.
